Let is Snow

I love My Scraps & More!  They had a fun Pinspiration crop this last week.  I was so inspired by their many challenges but unfortunately life didn't cooperate to give me much scrappy time.  Here is one layout of three layouts I created.  I was inspired by this fab sketch by Audrey at My Scraps:

Plus, here is the movie pinspiration I used: Frozen

Here is what I created:

Love

Over at Back Porch Memories, they have a Guest DT call each month and I'm a sucker for sketches so thought I'd play along this month.  Here is the sketch :

Plus, look at this fun quote challenge from the Pinspiration Crop over at My Scraps & More, one of my favorite Message Boards.  Here's the quote:

When I saw this quote challenge I knew right away I wanted to use these photos of my grandparents at different ages in their life.  I pulled out my old MME line and had fun creating.

Be sure and check out the fun challenges at both sites.  There is some fabulous inspiration!

Good Food Good Times

It's my turn at the 3 Scrappy Boys blog today, sharing a layout I created using the fun September Trio Kit.  I loved the mix of papers in this kit and the embellishments...there are a ton of embellishments to choose from!  I chose to create with the Basic Grey 2nd city Papers.  I love this fun multi colored print!  And the set of mini alphas in 6 colors were fun to add for my title. You can see more detailed photos of what's in the kit here.

I was totally inspired by this fun sketch from Colorful Creations.  Isn't it great?! Be sure and check things out and play along.  Fun sketches!

Be sure and check out the other 3SB kits as well.  Plus, the store is still 50% off!  Can't go wrong there.  Hope you have a happy scrappy week!

Oh Yum!

I love Laura Whitaker's sketches!  I always enjoy using them for my inspiration.  When I saw her two page sketch I knew it would be perfect for these photos of my family in Oregon last summer.  Here is her sketch at ScrapMuch?   Fun isn't it?  Instead of 6 small photos I chose to use 3 bigger ones.

And here is what I created:

Thanks for stopping by!! Enjoy your Wednesday!

Scrappy Friends Challenge

Every month, a group of 3 friends issue 3 different challenges and encourages you to play along with each of their challenges and if combine them you can have your name into a drawing for a grand prize.  I chose to take all three challenges.

Rochelle Spears issued this one where you pick three in any row to complete a tic tac toe
Brenda Ragsdale issued this sketch

And Kelly issued this color challenge:

And here is what I came up with.  For the Tic Tac Toe challenge I used the row with Stitching, Numbers and jewels.  As I'm looking at the color challenge, it printed more pink for me so I thought it was pink and the blue looked more turquoise  Ooops... I may need to re do the color part.

1st Day of School & Italian Countryside

I'm back today to share a few more layouts I created while at my scrappy retreat this weekend.

This one I braved it and created a double layout.  I found these old photos of my son that I hadn't scrapped yet.  Years ago I created 8 1/2 x 11 pages and have a bunch of them kitted up but I just can't bring myself to scrap that size anymore.  So I decided to do 12x12.  The sketch is by Page Maps.  I also incorporated a challenge at Scrap Our Stash where I used lined paper, alphas, an apple and a ruler.

Here is what I came up with (sorry about the lighting...both sides are the same cream cardstock):

Another layout I created was this one created  using a few of our Italy photos.  I'm still sorting them out between 4 phone cameras and 2 big ones, it's a lot of work.  I used this sketch from Sketches in Thyme.

And here is my take on it.  I did add an additional photo and added my title to the top but otherwise stayed pretty true to the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by!

2 More Layouts from my Scrappy Retreat

Here are 2 more layouts from my Scrapbook Retreat.  This first one was created using a Sketches in Thyme sketch by Bev Code.

And here is my take on it.  I switched to 2 photos and mine is definitely not feminine like this one.

My second layout is one I created using this fun sketch by Laura Whitaker over at ScrapMuch?

I thought this background paper is similar enough to create a similar feel:

Be sure and check these fun challenges out.  I loved them all!  Thanks for stopping by!

Color Me Scrappy Challenge #69 & Colorful Creations Sketch

Here is the second color challenge I used from Color Me Scrappy.

Plus I chose to use this darling sketch from Colorful Creations.  Love it!

And here is my take on both:

I'll be posting more today and tomorrow from my Scrappy Retreat.  Thanks for stopping by!

Color Me Scrappy Challenge #70

I was blessed to go to a Scrapbook Retreat this last week and got lots done!  Yay!  It felt great to have that creative time.  So you'll be seeing many posts from me over the next few days, if not all of them today.  Whenever I go to these retreats I go to several of my favorite sites and find a few challenges to inspire me.

Here is the first challenge.  It's a color challenge from Color Me Scrappy

Here is my take on it.  I thought the colors and wood feel of the letters felt like fall.

Thanks for stopping by!

Colorful Creations DT Call

Colorful Creations was a fun Ning site that was around for quite a few years and I played along quite a bit with their challenges.  Then they closed and somehow I lost track of them.  Then I saw on one of the DT member's blogs that  Colorful Creations has a blog now. I was thrilled!! Then while checking things out I discovered they have a DT Call.  I LOVE to use sketches when I create so I thought it would be fun to give it a try.

Here is the sketch for the call and we had to use fall colors.

And here is my take on it.  This is a photo of my daughter and her friend, Jen.  Aren't they beautiful?! I used Basic Grey Persimmon line.  It's a little hard to tell but the background is actually Navy. I loved this sketch!

Be sure and stop by Colorful Creations.  I'll be posting my take on their September 15 sketch soon. Come play along!

I was totally inspired by this fabulous sketch at Let's Get Sketchy

Back 2 School

It's my turn over at the 3Scrappy Boys blog.  I'm sharing my layout using this month's Add-On kit featuring the Jillibean Soup Spicy Social Soup.  Because this line is so specific it's got me working to figure out what to create with it.  As I was going through the papers, I thought there were several that worked well for a school layout so I found some older photos of my son to use.  I am still in shock that it's back 2 School time!  I'm not sure about you, but my summer has absolutely flown by!  Here is what I came up:

I was totally inspired by this fun sketch over at My Scraps and More Sketch blog.  At first I wasn't sure about it but I really had fun with it!  You should definitely try it!

And for those wondering, here is a photo of the kit I have this month to play with:

And here is the layout I created using this fun kit:

I was totally inspired for this layout from this great sketch from Let's Get Sketchy and it comes as no surprise it's created by Laura Whitaker.  Love her style!

Enjoy the Sunshine

It's my turn again over at 3 Scrappy Boys.  In case you don't remember, I am working with the July Add-On kit which consists of papers from #Summer by American Crafts and a cute one by Heidi Swapp. Here is what I created this week:

Isn't this the cutest photo of my niece?  I had fun playing with the hot pink, lime green and the hint of black!  The only thing I added not in the kit: the hot pink paper (it was so necessary for this), the white cardstock, the hot pink washi and the sequins.  Otherwise it's all from the kit.

The main title was created with one of the script fonts from the Simple Stories DIY stickers and one of the transparency ephemera in the kit.  For the "enjoy", I found the green by itself got a little lost on my pink paper so I remembered a trick I used years ago (think pre-thickers days) where I learned if you are needing a vowel/letter that you've used all of them up, cut around the letter, with a little bit of white showing and use the negative of the letter/word.  So that's what I chose to do.  The transparency, again was a little lost so I stapled it to some white cardstock and fussy cut around the edge of the transparency.

I was inspired by this sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy.  I turned it upside down due to the way my niece is facing in the photo.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you find some time to enjoy the sunshine!

Birthday Boy

I'm really trying to be better at my blog posts.  For some reason, I always seem to forget to come post them here.  Today I'm up over at the 3SB blog sharing another layout I created using my July Add-On Kit. It features the American Crafts #Summer line which is full of fun bright papers.  Since the colors are such cheerful & happy I thought they'd be fun for this photo of my son on his birthday last year.  He chose to go to Red Robin for lunch and there was a whole girl's athletic team there who insisted on singing to him.  Carsen doesn't like to be sung to and he was quite embarrassed, hence the #embarrassed on my layout.
I loved this pre-designed background with the journaling block right on it.  I layered up several of the papers, stitched a few on, added the thickers from the kit and a few of the stickers from the DIY Simple Stories.  Since the top was a bit heavy I anchored it with the strip of dots from the bottom of one of the papers.  The only thing not in the kit on this layout was the little white alpha stickers.  Otherwise it's all in the kit!

When I sat down to create this I was inspired by one of Laura Whitaker's sketches, as always.  Love her style!  Isn't it great?!  I might have to use it again rotated.  Love it!

That's it for today.  I keep hoping life will allow me to scrap more than just DT stuff but for now, I'm grateful I can find time for my DT stuff so maybe soon I'll have more time.  Hope you're having a great summer!

3 Scrappy Boys July Add-On & Back Porch Memories GDT sketch

I love this month's Add-On kit from 3Scrappy Boys!  The colors are so fun and colorful!  I love the embellishments and the papers!  It's fantastic!  Here is a photo of the kit and later this week will share a video showing you everything that comes in it.
July 2014 Add-on Kit

And here is a layout I created using this adorable photo of my 2 nieces that I love!
I created this by using the fun Doodlebug Washi Tape and creating a border around my cardstock, cut my papers by American Crafts #Summer line and added a few bits and pieces of the Fancy Pants Ephemera and stickers from DIY Simple Stories.  I used this amazing sketch by Page Maps created for BackPorch Memories.  Isn't it great?!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure and check back throughout the month to see more creations using this kit.   Have a happy, scrappy week!

Fun @ The Fair

Today it's my turn to share over at 3ScrappyBoys and since I've been so bad at blogging I thought I'd share it here as well.  I've had a fun kit to work with this month featuring Bo Bunny Modern Miss.  It's been great to work with and I've found it to be very versatile so don't let the name fool you that it's for girls only.  I've created several neutral ones.  Here's the layout I created this week:
I was totally inspired by this fabulous sketch by Laura Whitaker this time from Stuck?! Sketches.  I have found she is one of my favorite sketch artists.  I seem to see her work at several sites and I am very drawn to her style.  Look how great this is:

I thought I'd share another layout I created for the 3SB newsletter this month as well.  Since we honored the men in our lives this month I thought it only appropriate to create one of my dh and kids together:

I love that big "LOVE" which I fussy cut from one of the pre-designed 4x6 cards. And you want to know the crazy thing and I didn't even realize it until now.  These are from the same sketch.  The bottom one I just rotated it.  I guess you could say I loved this sketch and was very inspired by it!  That's what you get for not scrapping much either.  I totally forgot I'd used this sketch already.  Crazy!  Thanks Laura for some fab inspiration!  It was so great I had to use it twice.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous week!!
