Scrap Our Stash

September Book Inspired Stash Challenge
So this last challenge I created was for Scrap Our Stash.  They had a Book Inspire challenge with this cover.  I chose to be inspired by the school theme and even tried to use similar colors though the shades are a bit different.

Lastly...here is a layout I created just because.  This is my same son last year after he got his license.  Look at the difference in his hair?!

Thanks for your patience with the sharing of all my latest scrappy creations.  Thanks for all the inspiration for those that take the time to create sketches and challenges!  I do love this hobby!

The Memory Nest

I love Leslie over at The Memory Nest.  She's one of the nicest people you'll meet!  Years ago I designed for her so I always try and see what challenges she has going on.  This is the sketch challenge she issued earlier this month:

With the photos I used,  I couldn't quite make it work this way so I turned it to create my layout.  Again..I pulled out some old Fancy Pants products (let's be honest it's been so long since I scrapped regularly that all my stash is old).  I remember when this line came out and I just LOVED it but have found that it's not as easy to use as you'd think.  But still, it seemed perfect for these photos of my sister, my daughter and I getting pedicures for my daughter's 21st birthday.  It was the first summer she didn't come home so I went to see her to celebrate with her.
Oh, and I love patterned paper so much that I added more than the sketch called for so hopefully that's ok.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Let's Get Sketchy & More Than Words Challenges

So here is one I combined. You know life is so much easier and more fun with a sketch to start with.  I opted for this one from Let's Get Sketchy
.
And on my facebook group about Scrapbook Challenges I found this fun one from a site I've never seen: More Than Words which is a word with a twist.  Here is the one I participated in and hopefully did it right.

I opted for the Art Recipe though this Easter Bread is a family tradition.  This photo was taken this year and it was wonderful to have all 3 of my kids home this year.

Once again...thanks for stopping by.  Just a few more and I'll be done.

Scrappy Friends Challenge

One of my go to challenges each month -  if I have time to scrap - is the Scrappy Friends which is hosted by Rochelle Spears and Brenda Ragsdale (love both of their sketches).  This month the 2 challenges are:

Rochelle issues a This or That Challenge  and Brenda issues a fun sketch to use

Cute, huh?  So here is my take for this challenge.  Again..I got a fun new kit from Simple Stories and just HAD to use it.  This photos is super old but it went great with these papers. For Rochelle's challenge I used Enamel Shapes.  Besides the enamel dots I used the Geotag enamel piece.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous week!

Stuck Sketches

I just love a good sketch.  One of my favorite artists that creates them is Laura Whitaker.  Here is the sketch challenge at Stuck Sketches.  I'm  hoping to use her latest one too but it's September is almost over. How can that be?!

And here is my take.  I loved this photo of my darling niece!  She just makes me smile!  I used some old Echo Park.  The colors were perfect for this photo.

See...she's adorable, huh?!  Okay...thanks for checking this one out.

And just for fun, here is a layout I created using one of Laura's sketches from awhile back (sorry I don't remember what site or month it's from).  It was fun to explore the options of the ampersand and all the paper strips.

Off to create another post to share more from my retreat.  Thanks to Laura for these fun sketches!

It's been way too long!

Wow!  It's been way too long since I scrapped!  Luckily, I was able to go to my semi-annual Scrapbook Retreat and I got quite a few layouts done.  I love a good challenge so most of the ones I created are for a challenge so there will be multiple posts so I can share them on the different sites.  Thanks for understanding

This first layout is for a sketch challenge at The Scrap Room Blog.  If I can get myself to scrap more regularly I am totally getting Rochelle's kits.  They are awesome!  But until them I'm using up my old stash.  Here is the sketch challenge:

And here is my layout using it.  I pulled out some super old Bo Bunny stash and then flipped the sketch as I liked it better with my embellishments.  Oh...and no matter how hard I try I just can't angle my photos!  I think I'm too anal/OCD to do it.

Here's one I created just because I had that darling Simple Stories Summer kit and I just HAD to use it.  These photos are from a trip to the Oregon Coast several years ago.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous week!
